  • PVSD Summer Update 7/30/2021

    Good afternoon PVSD families, we hope that you have been enjoying summer and some needed rest and relaxation. We are another week closer to welcoming students on campus all day, five days a week! Included in our Summer Update are a few important, time-sensitive updates related to school operations in 2021-2022. After reading the Updated Guidance Infographic and Digital Learning Academy Flyer, please be sure to complete our Family Survey. Your voice is important! Also, save the date for Thursday, August 5th at 6:00pm and 6:30pm for our Family Webinar. Please join us and hear more about the school operations plans we are developing with staff and family input.   • Administrative Appointments for the 21-22 School Year

  • Press Release: PVSD Appoints Patricia Lerner to fill Vacant Seat on School Board

    At the Board Meeting of July 1, 2021, the Pleasant Valley School District Board appointed former board member Patricia Lerner to fill the provisional vacancy. Ms. Lerner will hold office through the next regularly scheduled election on November 8, 2022. This provisional appointment shall expire on December 2, 2022. The vacancy was created due to the death of Suzanne Kitchens, a long-standing board member and California Association of School Boards leader.

  • PVSD Announces Dr. Danielle Cortes as Superintendent

    The Pleasant Valley School District School Board has selected a new superintendent, Dr. Danielle Cortes, to oversee its 11 schools and various programs. The Board of Trustees selected Dr. Cortes to serve as superintendent at their Regular Board meeting on May 20, 2021.

  • Superintendent's 90-Day Entry Plan

    PVSD is widely recognized as one of the top performing districts in Ventura County and California. I am honored to join this award-winning district and to work closely with the Governing Board, teachers, administrators, staff, and families in support of excellence for all. In order to assess current needs and challenges, I look forward to spending the next 90 days listening to employees, students, families, and the community. This document is intended to provide a clear and transparent entry plan including the goals, objectives, and activities for my first few months as your new superintendent.
