  • Weekly Update 2/26/21

This week’s update includes information about the COVID-19 transmission rate, vaccines for employees, and our “reentry plan." A lot has changed since we adopted our metrics in November. Since then, the CDC and the California Department of Public Health have clarified their recommendations. After consulting with various stakeholder groups, PVSD will be adjusting our internal metrics to align with those provided by the CDC. This will allow a safe path to reentry for our students in grades TK-8. As a reminder, our students in special day classes (SDC) will return to campus on Monday, March 1st. On March 15th, students in grades TK-8 will transition back to our modified traditional program. Students will resume the hybrid A/B cohort model that was in place in October.

The PVSD School Board approved our Safe Reopening and Recovery Plan for fall 2020 at the special board meeting held on July 30, 2020. The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. Over 100 stakeholders representing parents, teachers, staff, and leadership worked together in partnership to prepare this comprehensive plan in line with local, county, state, and federal guidance. This plan is a "living document" which will adapt to changing guidelines and laws as necessary in order to maintain compliance.
