  • Rancho Campana High School Lottery Timeline

    Late September/Early October – Informational materials are prepared, these include: 

    lottery process, explanation of the school and vision, learning goals, academies, sports programs and CTSOs, and the 1:1 program.

    The principal delivers the materials to ALL feeder schools, meets with the principals and plans the messaging with the site.

    Second to Last Wednesday and Thursday in October (this year October 24th and 25th) – Freshman Informational Night is held.  Parents of potential students are invited to see the facilities, programs and learn about the lottery process.

    November 1 – The lottery application is available online, and the window opens.

    December 1 – The application window closes.

    Any late applicants fill out an application to register.  They are placed on an alternate wait list.

    Early December -   The number of available seats is determined.  The lottery is held in public using the random number generator random.org.  Every student is assigned a number and based off the number of available seats, they are admitted.  A list is posted on campus.  Priority is given as needed for professional courtesy and siblings.

    Mid-December – Admission letters are mailed along with a letter of intent form.  The letter of intent must be given in person and upon receipt a registration packet is given to the family.

    Mid-January – The letter of intent is due.  Once the deadline has passed, if a letter of intent was not received, admission is forfeited.  Number of available admissions is determined based upon the number of LOI’s received.  Another lottery is held if needed; the date is announced shortly after.

    If the initial waitlist has been exhausted the secondary waitlist is used to fill enrollment,

    End of February – Freshman Orientation.  All incoming freshman rotate through stations, Academy Interviews, Four-Year Plan and Course Selection.  All registration packets are due on or before this date.

    Throughout the process students will continue to be admitted from the waitlist.
