As we prepare for the phased in reopening starting on October 26, 2020, we are aware that there are families who had a change in their circumstances affecting the learning environment they chose in August. We are surveying families so they can indicate any change in circumstance. Please note: we want to be clear that filling out the survey does not guarantee a change in placement.

The PVSD School Board approved our Safe Reopening and Recovery Plan for fall 2020 at the special board meeting held on July 30, 2020.
The purpose of the Local Plan is to: (1) Outline the special education policies/procedures and services that are offered throughout the SELPA. (2) To assure access to special education and related services for all individuals with exceptional needs residing within the geographic areas served by the plan and (3) To assure compliance with all Federal and State codes and statutes.
As you know, due to State and County guidelines and recommendations, we will be starting the school year in the Distance Learning Model. While our entire staff would like to start the year in-person, this is what is best for keeping our students and community safe. As outlined in the Pleasant Valley School District Safe Reopening and Recovery Plan, we put the safety and well-being of our students first. Rest assured, just as during a traditional school year, our teachers and staff are working diligently to prepare and implement a rigorous and robust, online and in-person, educational program for the 20-21 school year. We continue to value the partnerships that we have with our families. This year, more than ever, we must work cohesively to make certain our students are successful academically, socially, and emotionally.
