Welcome to Classified Human Resources

  • Classified employees (defined in California Education Code Section 45256) provide essential non-teaching support to students, teachers, and the district.   Classified employees include non-Credentialed positions in Child Nutrition, Business / Fiscal, Technology, Human Resources, Instructional Support, Administrative Support, Maintenance / Facilities / Operations, Transportation, and Purchasing/Warehouse.  Positions that require a credential (teaching credential, registered nurse, counseling, etc.) are considered "certificated" positions and are managed by the District's Certificated Human Resources Department.

    Classified Human Resources is overseen by a three-person Personnel Commission, and day-to-day operations are managed by a Director of Classified Human Resources.  Our purpose and functions are described in California Education Code, Sections 45240 to 45320.  The primary responsibilities of Classified Human Resources include:

    • Classification and Compensation
    • Recruitment and Assessment
    • Training
    • Evaluation and Performance Management
    • Disciplinary Hearings/Appeals
    • Merit Rules Development and Administration
