Open Enrollment Application Information
Open Enrollment will be January 27 to February 16, 2025
The applications for First Choice Zone Selection form, Neighborhood Comprehensive Middle School Selection form, School Choice (Intra-District Application), Request for TK to Accelerate to K, and Request for K to Enroll in TK are all electronic and may be submitted electronically after you fill them out. The Inter-District application must be printed and a hard copy turned in.
First Choice Zone Selection
Pleasant School of Engineering and Arts (PVSEA) and Dos Caminos School (DCS) are in a boundary area called the First Choice Zone. Any new student enrolling that lives in the First Choice Zone may choose which school they want to enroll in without doing choice paperwork. Please fill out the First Choice Zone Selection form. Hard copies are available at the Pleasant Valley School District office at 600 Temple Avenue, where you may fill it out and turn it into the Enrollment Office.
Neighborhood Comprehensive Middle School Selection Form
If your student is in a TK-8th grade school and is in 5th grade, you have the following options:
• You may continue at the TK-8th grade school for grades 6th-8th , or
• You may select to attend your neighborhood comprehensive middle school for grades 6th-8th.
If you wish to select your neighborhood comprehensive middle school, please fill out the Neighborhood Comprehensive Middle School form. If you wish to go to a different comprehensive middle school, you will need to fill out the School Choice Application. Hard copies are available at the Pleasant Valley School District office at 600 Temple Avenue, where you may fill it out and turn it into the Enrollment Office.
School Choice Application (Schools within PVSD)
Pleasant Valley School District has established an open enrollment period for those students wishing to attend a District school other than their neighborhood school, including Los Primeros School of Sciences and Arts, Santa Rosa Technology Magnet and Dos Caminos Dual-Language Immersion Program. For the 2025-26 school year, the Intra-District School Choice enrollment period is January 27th to February 14th, 2025. If there are more applications than spots in a priority level, the order of how spots are offered will be determined by lottery. Please submit the Intra-District School Choice Application. Hard copies are available at the Pleasant Valley School District office at 600 Temple Avenue, where you may fill it out and turn it into the Enrollment Office.
Inter-District Transfer Application (Transferring a student to PVSD from another district.)
Pleasant Valley School District (PVSD) accepts students from outside the PVSD boundaries based on space availability. Parents must go to their home district to obtain an Inter-District Transfer Agreement. Students should remain enrolled in their home district until the parent(s) are notified that a space is available at PVSD. Once your home district has signed off on the form, please turn it into the Enrollment Office at Pleasant Valley School District at 600 Temple Avenue. Inter-District Transfer Applications for school year 2025-2026 will be accepted January 27-February 14, 2025. If you cannot get the actual IDT Application signed off by February 16th, please fill out this place holder form and turn it in. Forms can be turned into the Enrollment Office at Pleasant Valley School District office at 600 Temple Avenue, turned into your school office, or emailed to mvazquez@pleasantvalleysd.org.
If you wish to attend a District outside of Pleasant Valley School District, please complete the Inter-District Transfer Form or Espanol and submit it to the Pleasant Valley School District enrollment office. You will then be contacted for an appointment with the Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services to discuss.
Transitional Kindergarten
PVSD is offering Transitional Kindergarten to students with birthdates on or between September 2, 2020 and September 1, 2021. Information about our Transitional Kindergarten program can be found here. If your child's birthdate is in this range, you should complete pre-enrollment here. If you want to go to TK in a school that is not your neighborhood school, you must also fill out the School Choice form referenced at the top of this page.
Request To Accelerate a Transitional Kindergarten Aged Student to Kindergarten
If your child's birthdate is in the Transitional Kindergarten birth date range but you would like to accelerate your child to Kindergarten, there is a process to determine if that is appropriate that includes an assessment, interview, and a team meeting. In order to get that process started, please fill out the Request to Accelerate a Transitional Kindergarten Aged Student to Kindergarten form. You will then be contacted to start the process.
Request to Enroll in Transitional Kindergarten for a Kindergarten Aged Student
If your child's birthdate is in the Kindergarten birth date range but you would like to enroll your child in Transitional Kindergarten, there is a process to determine if that is appropriate that includes an assessment and an interview.
