What is the California School Dashboard?

The California School Dashboard (or the Dashboard) is an online tool that shows parents and communities how schools and districts are performing on a variety of indicators such as academic performance, absenteeism rates, suspension rates and more.  The Dashboard is released each fall based on data from the previous school year.  Results are presented for all districts, schools, and defined student groups (e.g., racial groups, low income, English learners, homeless, foster youth, students with disabilities). Schools and districts receive one of five color-coded performance levels on each of the indicators.  As part of the cycle of continuous improvement. Pleasant Valley School District uses the data from the Dashboard to inform next steps with regards to areas of strength and challenge.
