Welcome to Classified Human Resources

Classified Employment Opportunities

Classified employees provide essential non-teaching support to the students and staff of the Pleasant Valley School District. Classified employees manage the business of education; serving positions in Food Services, Business Services, Technology, Human Resources, Instructional Support, Administrative Support, Facilities, Maintenance & Operations, Transportation, and Purchasing/Warehouse.

The classified service is governed by a three-member Personnel Commission, with the responsibility of ensuring that all personnel management functions are in accordance with the principles of the merit system. Core merit-based functions encompass fair and equitable practices as described in the California Education Code, Sections 45240 to 45320.

The primary responsibilities of Classified Human Resources in a merit system district include:

  • Recruitment and assessment on the basis of merit and fitness for duty
  • Retaining an efficient workforce by correcting inadequate performance
  • Training employees for quality performance
  • Classification and compensation
  • Evaluation and performance management
  • Ensuring fair employee practices
  • Merit Rule development and administration
  • Compliance with state and federal regulations

As we continually adapt to evolving workplace dynamics, Pleasant Valley School District proudly upholds the Merit System core principles of equity, competence, efficiency, and political neutrality in all personnel transactions.
