Volunteer and Coaching Information

Volunteer Process:

Community and parent volunteers are important to Pleasant Valley School District. We value their service and the contribution they make to the District's schools. In order to keep our children safe, the District will conduct a screening before any volunteer is placed in a position where he or she may be left alone with a student.

Depending on the type of volunteer work performed the process varies:

ALL VOLUNTEERS:
  1. Review the PVSD Volunteer Handbook
  2. Print, review, and sign the Handbook Receipt and Acknowledgement, the Volunteer Agreement Form and the Volunteer Application Form.
  3. Return completed forms to the school site(s) where you will be volunteering, including a copy of your current photo ID. If you are a Supervised Volunteer, you will be approved by the site administrator and notified by the school site when you can begin volunteering.

UNSUPERVISED VOLUNTEERS:

  1. If you are an Unsupervised Volunteer, your initial packet will be forwarded to the Office of Human Resources and you will be contacted directly regarding next steps.   You may not begin Unsupervised Volunteer work until cleared by the Human Resources Office.  The school site will be notified once the Unsupervised Volunteer is cleared to start.

Volunteers as Coaches & Coaches Process:

The Human Resources Office will notify the school sites when the screening process is complete. The process can take up to two weeks to complete. If you have questions about volunteer and coach screenings, contact the Human Resources Department, at (805) 389-2100 Ext. 3, then Ext. 7 or Email: HumanResources@pleasantvalleysd.org
