Special Education
Overview
PVSD is committed to the identification and service of special education students within the least restrictive environment and with access to the general education core curriculum. Services and placements are assigned in accordance with each student’s I.E.P. (Individualized Educational Program) which is based on his or her unique needs. A range of special education programs and services are available to all qualifying preschool through 8th grade students in mild/moderate and extensive needs settings.
Are you interested in volunteering to be a PVSD Special Education rep?
Our parents of students with disabilities offer valuable perspectives, experiences, and knowledge, and our school site and district committees need your voice. Please consider volunteering as a school site representative on our Special Education District Advisory Committee or join SELPA's Community Advisory Committee (CAC).
Please contact Amy Sachs, Director of Special Education, at 805-389-2100 if you would like to learn more about volunteering opportunities.
Are you concerned about your child?
Parents/Guardians who suspect their child has a disability are advised to contact their local school site or Amy Sachs, Director of Special Education, at 805-389-2100. Parents may also contact Ventura County Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA).
