    About Me

    Mr. Fuchs

I am excited to start my 24th year of teaching.   I was born in and raised in Camarillo, so I remember when the sign read “Welcome to Camarillo: population of 19,000.”   I left Camarillo during my time in the United States Marines and in College.    My wife and I came back to after we completed college and made Camarillo our home again.   My wife, Julie has been active in the PVSD PTA since our children started school.   This will be our first year both of our kids will be out of PVSD and in high school.   My son, Aiden is starting 9th grade at Ranco and my Daughter, Taylor is a Senior at Cam.     We have lived through and are currently living through distance learning as parents and me as a teacher.    I do understand the stress distance learning puts on the kids and the families supporting them.    Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns and I will respond to you as soon as I can.

    Classroom News and Information

    Hello,

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year.  I am looking forward to teaching 8th Grade U.S. History.  The instructional year will look a bit different during distance learning and will change to a modified schedule once we are back in the classroom.

During distance learning, the schedule is as follows:  Grades 6-8 will operate on a 3X3 model, alternating quarter block schedule. Students will take three classes each quarter. The first half of the class is covered in either quarter one or two with the second half covered either quarter three or four. Courses will cover the full year of content through this compressed model.

8:15-8:40- Teacher: grading, prep, planning, communicating, collaborating, meetings

    8:40-10:15- Per 1

    10:15-10-30 Break

    10:35-12:05 Per 2

    12:05-12:40 Lunch

    12:45-2:15 Per 3

2:15-3:20 Teacher: grading, prep, planning, communicating, collaborating, meetings

Modified traditional (once we go back to the classroom)

Classes will be held on an A/B Rotating Schedule (2-week rotation).

    Week 1: AABAB

    Week 2:  BABAB

Students are responsible for checking my google classroom to retrieve their assignments.  I will be using Zoom for live teaching my U.S. History Class.  Google Classroom will be the common platform to retrieve assignments and to submit assignments.   Email questions regarding assignments to bfuchs@pleasantvalleysd.org or a student can share a question on a Google doc with me.  I will get back to you with a response or a suggestion.

Please note:  During distance learning, appropriate online behavior is expected.  Make sure commentary and conversation is appropriate just as it would be in the classroom.

I am looking forward to working with you this year and having it being a successful rewarding year.

Please email if there are any questions- bfuchs@pleasantvalleysd.org

    Sincerely,

    Mr. Fuchs
