Welcome & Classroom Information
I want to welcome you all to my website. Most of the important information will be found on Google Classroom, however, you may email me from here to stay in contact when necessary. I will be adding to Google classroom regularly so please check there for new assignments. If you have specific questions with regards to an assignment please send me an email and I will get back to you right away during my regular office hours, which are from 9:30-10am Monday, Wednesday and Friday for 8th grade and 12-12:30 for my STEM class. All other emails will be returned ASAP, within 24hrs. I will be having a zoom classroom meeting for each class once a week for the next few weeks and less often from then on. Stay tuned for more information as to when we will be having our meetings. Check google classroom for more information. I will be attempting to keep things as close to our normal routine as possible, so most of you will easily stay on target. Stay Well.
I have been teaching at Monte Vista since 1999. I have a associates of science in Biology, a BS in biology with pre-med emphasis, and a masters degree in education. I have tought all grades, from kindergarden to college level. I have published two books on the NGSS science standards, one for third grade and one for fourth grade. My hobbies include writing, singing and recording music, and building and fixing things.
First Day Expectations
We officially begin science classes on Monday the 30th. I will be assigning two lessons per week with the first one to be completed by Wednesday. It should take less than an hour to complete. The second assignment will be posted on Tuesday and should be completed by Friday the 3rd. All assignments should be turned in as each portion is completed. If you have any problems, questions or concererns, my office hours are 9:30-10am, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Zoom will be open on Wednesdays to join at that time. Please either email or send a message through google classroom on Monday or Friday to get immediate feedback. My zoom code can be found in my google classroom stream page
