Welcome & Classroom Information
"The future depends on what you do today." Mahatma Gandhi. We are in our last week of Distance Learning, Week 9 and Mrs. Wyatt and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our students and parents, for your perseverance and flexibilty, during these last few months of school. I know it wasn't easy and we were all learning together but the majority of our students, did their best to stay focused and engaged. We are so very proud of you all. As this is the end of Distance Learning, your final assignments will be available on Monday, June 1st, at 8:30 a.m. We continue to use the 'Credit' or 'No Credit', based on your level of effort and work completion. The '1' or '0' point scale: 1=you met the mark of completion; 0=you did not complete the assignment and showed no effort. Mrs. Wyatt and I continue to use both your gmail accounts and messages via Google Classroom, to stay in touch with you and to give you feedback, regarding your assignments or, to remind you of items you still need to complete or checking in to make sure all is well.
If you have not completed the Fast bridge assessment, please do so this week, as this is the last week to complete and earn your points. I have emailed and messaged many of you asking that you go into Clever to take the assessement and have asked you to contact us if you are having difficulty logging in, so we can assist you via Zoom. It provides us with information, related to your independent reading level.
Mrs. Wyatt and I will hold our last 'office hours' via Zoom this Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, based on grade level: Monday (10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.) for 8th graders, Wednesday (10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.) for 7th graders, and Friday (11:00-11:30 a.m.), both 7th and 8th grade. If you need to contact us after this week (during the week of June 8th), please message or email us, so we can set-up a time. Starting Tuesday, June 9th, students will be returning chrome books, chargers, textbooks, as well as retriving items from their campus lockers and gym lockers. Information regrading End of the Year procedures for Monte Vista, can be found on the Monte Vista home page. Please parents and students, take a moment this week to review the letter written by Mrs. Burchell, Monte Vista's Principal.
Mrs. Wyatt and I are here to help and support all of you so please continue to message us and remember to turn in your assignments, once we have given feedback and you have completed it. See you at our Zoom meetings and remember, it is important to check in with all of your teachers as we are all here to ensure your education continues, even if it isn't in a 'classroom'. The 4th quarter is quickly coming to an end so make sure you are completing your assignments to earn your class 'Credit' for language arts and all of your other classes.
