Mrs. Tran

I've wanted to be a teacher since I was in elementary school.  In fifth grade, I made my younger siblings and cousins be the students and I was their "teacher."  I was happy in that role.  At the University of Santa Barbara, I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree and was admitted to their Graduate School of Education.  It was an intensive program, and in one year I earned both my Multiple-Subject and Single-Subject credentials.  After graduating from UCSB, I was hired in the Fall of 1992 and started teaching my first group of students.  There were 30 plus fourth-graders and I was so excited to be their teacher!  It was a lot of hard work, but I loved it!  The hard work and the love for teaching never stopped.  I taught 4th grade for six years, one year with a 2nd/3rd combo class, another year with a 1st/2nd combo class, one year in 1st grade, and many, many years teaching 2nd grade.  I taught at Ramona School for eight years, and I've been teaching at Las Posas School since the year 2000.

With every new school year, I hold the key to unlock my students' learning.  I see my students not just as "students," but as important individuals who will grow academically, while strengthening their social and emotional skills.

What is school?  SCHOOL is a place of learning, growth, fun, and friendship.
