It is with great enthusiasm that I look forward to the new school year and the adventure we will embark on together! It is my pleasure to be serving the Rancho Rosal community, students, and staff through a collaborative partnership that aims at achieving academic excellence for all students. At Rancho Rosal our mission is for our students to learn at high levels, lead with integrity, and reach their full potential.

This is my third year as principal of Rancho Rosal. Prior to coming here, I was the Dean for Pleasant Valley School of Engineering and Arts in the Pleasant Valley School District. I have been an educator for 19 years, possessing my Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Education from the University of Southern California and a Master of Science in Applied Educational Administration from National University. I was a classroom teacher for twelve years, a Teacher on Special Assignment specializing in English Language Development, and a prior principal for four years. I have taught elementary, middle, and high school students and enjoyed the unique qualities of every age group.

I am passionate about promoting an environment that maximizes student learning, addresses student's social-emotional well-being, encourages leadership, kindness, and fosters equity. I am a lifelong learner who strives at continuous professional growth with many years of experience in curriculum and Instruction, positive behavior systems, and meeting the needs of English Language Learners and special education students.

I was born and raised in Southern California and lived briefly in Northern California for eight years. I am married with three wonderful children: Daniel (24), Tatiana (20), and Isaiah (14) a 10th grader in high school. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and reading a good book.

I believe in an open-door policy and welcome your questions, concerns, or feedback. Please do not hesitate to contact me at 805- 445-1147 or by email at mmagana@pleasantvalleysd.org.
