  • Recommended Supplies List 2019-2020 School Year

    Please be advised that Monte Vista will not be providing agneda books to students for the next school year.  If this is a tool used in your household, please purchase a notepad or daily planner.  Students will be shown digital methods to record assignments using Google Calendar and Google Classroom.  Attached is the recommended supply list for 19-20, to assist you with your back to school shopping.

  • First Day of School - Wed., Aug. 28th

    The first day of school is Wednesday, Aug. 28th.  Students will received their first period assignments (1A) in the main quad.  Schedules will be handed out during first period (1A).  School starts at 8:30am and the campus opens at 8am.  Please start the school year off right with an on time arrival (8:20 at the latest).

  • Athletics Packet for 19-20 School Year

    All students who are interested in trying out for and/or playing a school sport during the 19-20 school year, must have a completed and cleared Monte Vista Athletics Packet.  Particularly for fall sports (co-ed flag football, cross country and girls' volleyball), phsyicals must be done over the summer and signed off by the district nurse.  Please make appts. soon.

  • Monte Vista Campus Monthly Tours 19-20 School Year

    In an effort to be accessible to parents and community members who have an interest in knowing more about Monte Vista Middle School, we are pleased to announce that our school offers monthly tours.  Visitors will meet the Principal and see the campus in action.  They will be given information regarding instructional programs, electives, schedules and registration. 

    Monte Vista is pleased to announce monthly tours of our campus the third Friday of each month –September 20th, October 18th, November 15th, December 20th, January 17th, February 28th*, March 20th, April 24th*, and May 15th.  The tours will begin promptly at 9am and will last between 45min to an hour.  Please call our office to reserve a spot at (805) 482-8891 or email our School Admin.     *Indicates tour has been moved to the fourth Friday of the month to accommodate school holidays.

  • Changes to Immunization Requirements, July 1st, 2019

    Starting in the 2019-2020 school year, the following changes will become regulations for school immunizations:

    • Two doses (rather than one) of chickenpox (varicella) vaccine 
    • Two MMR doses and three Hepatitis B vaccine doses

    These new requirements will affect current 6th grade students for advancement to 7th grade.  Please check your records and keep this information in mind as doctor's appointments occur during the school year.
