Academic Programs

Elementary School (Grades 3-5)

All PVSD 3rd grade students are assessed for eligibility for the Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program.  GATE is incorporated into the regular classroom through daily differentiation. GATE students in grades 3-5 will be clustered (grouped) by grade level at their school site.

Middle School (Grades 6-8)

Our comprehensive middle schools have an honors program for language arts and accelerated math options. These courses are designed with rigorous lessons to engage students in rich conversation and critical thinking. If you have questions about the courses that your child is enrolled in, please contact the teacher first. If you have questions about your GATE child's placement in the program, please contact the school's counselor.

Extension Opportunities

 

Expert Projects:Allow student autonomy to dive deeply into topics and present their learning through project presentations at a community showcase.

 

GATE Academies: Additional opportunities for GATE-eligible students to engage in a variety of interactive activities such as dance, art, STEM, for enrichment and FUN.
