Human Resources

  • The Pleasant Valley School District Human Resources Department is a vital branch of the District’s administration. Our mission is to hire, train, motivate, and retain highly qualified certificated and classified employees to implement district programs and provide the best quality services for our students.

Pleasant Valley School District employs two classifications of employees: Certificated employees must have a specialized credential (e.g. teacher, counselor, speech therapist, or school principal). Classified employees need not have a credential. They are the support staff of the district (e.g. clerical staff, custodians, food services, campus supervisors, para educators, secretaries, maintenance workers).

    • Certificated Employment encompasses positions that require an appropriate authorization such as a credential, permit, certificate or waiver depending on the assignment (e.g. teacher, counselor, speech therapist, psychologist or school administrator).
    • Classified Employment encompasses all non-instructional positions including, but not limited to the following job families: clerical/secretarial, custodial/grounds, maintenance, child nutrition, accounting/fiscal, instructional support/child care, child development teachers, and information/data processing.
