Welcome to the Pleasant Valley School District Child Care Program! Our goal is to serve parents who need Child Care before and after school, including Expanded TK/K. We are dedicated to providing encouragement and support as children grow socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically. Our caring and qualified staff are dedicated to providing an environment to help all children feel successful.
During PVSD Child Care, program staff will create safe, nurturing and fun experiences for children that are developmentally appropriate. The students will have the opportunity to make choices to participate in varied activities, which include: arts and crafts, music and movement, academic support, science experiments, technology, group games, outside activities and center exploration. Our curriculum emphasizes the development of a sense of personal competence and interpersonal skills, such as collaboration and problem solving strategy skills.
Child Care staff are vetted PVSD employees. All Child Care Leaders are required to have at least 12 units in child development and experience working with school-aged children. Leaders and many of our Assistants are CPR and First Aid certified. All staff receive extensive background checks and fingerprint clearance before beginning any work with children. Our staff has the unique opportunity to work closely with teachers and school site personnel to offer a program that is supportive of each child's unique needs.
PVSD Child Care is a tuition-based program with a no-cost option for qualified families. We are located on 9 elementary campuses for TK-6th grade PVSD students. Expanded TK/K is a no-cost optional program for our transitional kindergarten and kindergarten students.
