In collaboration with Ventura County Public Health, Ventura County school districts, and in accordance to Gov. Newsom’s guidance, Pleasant Valley School District (PVSD) decided to begin the 20-21 school year in a distance-learning format for all students. It is our hope that as conditions improve, we can bring our students back to school.
The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. With this in mind, over 100 stakeholders representing parents, teachers, staff, and leadership worked together in partnership to prepare this comprehensive solid plan in line with local, county, state, and federal guidance. As guidance changes, our plan will adapt in order to maintain compliance. In that regard, this is a living document.
We want to stress that our safety, cleaning, and distancing procedures are in place to mitigate, not eliminate risk. By working together to implement the safety measures identified with fidelity, we can all do our part and greatly reduce the risk to our students and staff.
