Family Update 11/18/2022

Good afternoon PVSD Families,

I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation and gratitude for all of you and for the honor of serving your students. It is a joy to be a part of their lives. My favorite moment this week was watching the TK/K Turkey Tango at PVSEA. There is nothing else like those smiles to humble us and remind us of our purpose.

I appreciate our partnership with families and I thank you for your many contributions to our district.

I hope that you have a delightful Thanksgiving with family and friends and that you find some moments of rest and peace.

Dr. Danielle Cortes

Introduction to New Director of Human Resources, Katie Burchell-

Congratulations to Katie Burchell who has been appointed as our next Director of Human Resources, Certificated! Please see her letter of introduction attached.

It is my pleasure to announce that after a competitive process, Katie Burchell has been selected for this important role. Katie has a proven track record of success as a classroom teacher, PVSD assistant principal and principal, and most recently as Director of Special Education. We are excited to have her knowledge, expertise, energy, and collaborative nature leading the human resources team.

It is not lost on me that there will be big shoes to fill with her transition from special education. She will continue to hold down the fort in SPED in the meantime. We have posted the Director, Special Education position and will conduct a broad search to bring the best candidate to PVSD.
